Getting Possessed by an Evil Swimming Pool Is a Family Affair in Night Swim Trailer

We have another trailer for Night Swim, the movie about an evil swimming pool targeting the new family that moved in. This one is, frankly, a vast improvement from the first one, and also gives us more of a clue as to what specific horrors said swimming pool will commit.

The movie centers on the Waller family, who move into a new home with a creepy swimming pool. The father, Ray (Wyatt Russell), is a former major league baseball player who had to retire because of an illness. Along with him are his wife, Eve (Kerry Condon), and their two kids, Izzy (Amélie Hoeferle) and Elliott (Gavin Warren).

Before we get much farther, here’s the official synopsis for the film:

Secretly hoping, against the odds, to return to pro ball, Ray persuades Eve that the new home’s shimmering backyard swimming pool will be fun for the kids and provide physical therapy for him. But a dark secret in the home’s past will unleash a malevolent force that will drag the family under, into the depths of inescapable terror.

Spoiler alert: That pool isn’t so fun, folks! This new trailer gives the sense that a malevolent force lives in the drains underneath the pool and has a penchant for death toy figurines. It also appears to be able to alter minds and/or possess the Wallers, with the kids seeing things and Ray getting murderous as the force takes him over.

The movie is a Blumhouse production and is written and directed by Bryce McGuire. It’s produced by James Wan (Malignant, Aquaman), and Jason Blum.

Night Swim paddles its way into theaters on January 5, 2024.
